The Incitement Monitor examines main racist remarks and incitement in Israel against the question of Palestine. The present report covers the incitement campaign which accompanied the massacre of the Great March of Return in Gaza on the anniversary of the Land Day.

According to the report, the killing of dozens of Palestinians in the Great March of Return on the anniversary of the Land Day was neither a shortfall nor a coincidence. It was an well-thought political-security decision. It was prepared by media outlets, which created an atmosphere of injustice. It was also initiated by senior political and military leaders who made clear statements, supporting the deliberate murder of unarmed Palestinians merely on the pretext of approaching the border.

Plenty of evidence shows that unarmed protestors were deliberately murdered. This includes the State Comptroller’s report on the army’s inability to deal with this kind of demonstrations. Chief police officers also warned that the army was incapable of dealing with the demonstrations and that it would necessarily kill protestors. A military commander even expected that 20 Palestinians would be killed!
