Election results are particularly dangerous as they coincide with a favourable international environment and dwindling Arab support to Palestinians.
The right wing enjoys almost invariable support from its grassroots. Mobility is taking place between parties within the right wing. The stock of centre-left votes is limited.
Ramallah: The Strategic Report 2019 of the Palestinian Forum for Israeli Studies (MADAR) concluded that the next stage would see a shift towards annexing settlements to Israel’s sovereignty, accelerating settlement expansion, inhibiting the prospects of Palestinian statehood, and limiting a solution with Palestinians to remaining Israeli facts on the ground. According to MADAR Strategic Report 2019, the upcoming period will also involve an expedited action to bolster the national Jewish identity of the state at the expense of already vulnerable democratic values, negatively reflecting on the status of Palestinians in the 1948 territory.
Ramallah: The Palestinian Center for Israeli Studies (MADAR) organized a symposium titled "100 Years since Balfour Declaration" in Ramallah yesterday. During the event, Dr. Said Zaidani, Philosophy Professor in Al-Quds University, gave a presentation titled “Balfour Declaration: ‘The Narrow Text and the Broader Framework’, while the lawyer, Ms. Suhad Bishara, presented "a Reading of the Zionist Settlement Colonialism in the Israeli Judiciary." The symposium was moderated by the writer Akram Musllam.
Ramallah: Under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, the Palestinian Forum for Israeli Studies (MADAR) organised a seminar, titled The Palestinian Culture in the 1948 Territory: The Current Context, Challenges and Prospects in Ramallah yesterday. In this seminar, participants recommended that the current forms of cultural cooperation between Palestinians on both sides of the Green Line be enhanced. Cultural cooperation needs to be institutionalised so that it is no longer seasonal, but serves as an essential part of institutional programmes. To illustrate a case of real cultural partnership, cooperation will ensure developing joint projects, exchanging art performances, networking, recruiting support and building a database.
Ramallah: In a symposium organized by The Palestinian Forum for Israeli Studies MADAR titled “Israel and the War on Gaza”, on 2/9/2014, the participants said that they believe that the war on Gaza will not lead to a new political horizon. The participants noted that there has been more talk about a political solution with the Arab States that excludes the Palestinian Authority - PA, side by side with developing a new equation for Gaza titled “the PA on the margins and HAMAS in the center”.
Ramallah: The Palestinian Forum for Israeli Studies MADAR held a symposium in Ramallah, yesterday, on the occasion its publishing of the Arabic translation of Shlomo Sand’s “The Invention of the Land of Israel”. The director of MADAR’s Israeli Scene Department writer Antoine Shalhat and the professor of philosophy and cultural studies in Birzeit University Dr. AbdulRahim Sheikh sat on the panel of the symposium, which was facilitated by writer Akram Musalam.
